Bio

Laura Quiros is a Latina woman of color from a mixed ancestry. Laura received her Masters from Hunter College School of Social Work and identifies as a critical social work educator. The majority of her work has been in the areas of trauma and addiction with roles varying from a clinician for women affected by trauma, mental health issues and addiction, to a program director for a residential treatment program. She has also had the opportunity to create and facilitate several trainings, teach on the undergraduate and graduate levels, and publish articles relating to her work with trauma survivors and her own personal journey. Presently, she is working on completing her doctorate at the City University of New York. She is in the research stage of her dissertation, which focuses on the internal and external identification of women of color from mixed ancestry.
Laura lives in Montclair, NJ with her husband Ben and Daughter Carla
