My last few blog entries have been somewhat negative--Blame it on blogging during a hot flash. Today I have positive things to say about life (read education). There is an elementary school in Gary called Banneker. This school is in the heart of Gary, the children at this school suffer from the same issues as children in other schools--poor health, single parents, poverty, school with few resources--yet this school is succeeding where others fail.

When I heard this statistic, I thought to myself, “You have got to be kidding!!!” But, no, that was it. That out of 3 students in urban schools, 1 will graduate: ONE.
